are required
Please take a few minutes to express your confidential opinion, based on your individual knowledge, on the impact and timeline of commercial implementation for the identified decarbonization technologies.
All responses will be published in their aggregated form (only) within the final road map report. The report will neither identify individual respondents nor provide attribution of individual responses to a respondent. Participation in the survey is intended to be anonymous, although you may include your name and email. Certain information is required to help us tabulate the data by country and professional affiliation to AIST.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary, and you may skip questions or pause and save your data at any time while taking the survey.

Iron or Steel Producer
Supplier
This is a two-part survey:
Part 1
refers to various decarbonization technologies and their
impact
on carbon emission reduction, expressed as “kg Co
2
/metric ton of crude steel produced.”
Part 2
refers to the same decarbonization technologies and their
timeline
for commercial implementation, expressed as years from today.
The decarbonization technologies are grouped into the following themes:
Electrification of processes
Alternative energy sources and low-carbon fuels
Material and energy optimization
Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS)
Within the survey, all responses are relative to Scope 1 emissions only. If you have no expertise on a specific technology, you may choose “No expertise,” or you may skip the line altogether.
